Thom and Torie Foote founded Footehills Farm because they wanted to eat better, live better, and find new dimensions of flavor within permaculture practice. Footehills Farm is a “sell and sustain” operation; Thom and Torie only sell plants they’re willing to eat themselves, and they are pretty picky!
Restaurants and residents of the Spokane area know that Footehills Farm maintains the best soil and that’s why their herbs and produce taste so unusually good. Thom and Torie are passionately cultivating expertise in biologically balanced soil, an approach that treasures insects, fungi, and other eco-diversity as valuable partners in the growing process. Herbs, Salves and Sauces.
Footehills Farm operates sustainably under the ethics of permaculture. Care of the Earth, care of people, and sharing the surplus inform permaculture design principles that minimize labor and waste while maximizing growth and productivity.
Many medicinal herbs are available as salves or creams. Many culinary herbs are available as vinegars, pestos, or other sauces and seasonings. Please visit our Farmstand to find out what’s available now. Footehills Farm products are seasonal and small-batch and offerings may vary by month.

My 5 months spent on Footehills Farm was a great learning experience. Thom taught me some woodworking and use of power tools. Torie taught me land responsibilities. like remembering daily tasks. They allowed me the responsibility of making preparations for the season. I look forward to working on the farm with them again.
